The Royal Palace of Caserta lies north of Naples, in the opposite direction from the coast, and deserves a full day: the royal apartments, the park with its fountains and the English garden. With a private driver from Naples you leave from your hotel or the station and find the car waiting when you are done, with no changes or platform waits.
Where it starts
Naples hotels, Napoli Centrale, the Stazione Marittima for cruise passengers and Capodichino airport, which already sits on the north side of the city and makes the route especially direct.
Road and arrival at the palace
We travel north on the motorway. The palace faces a large square near Caserta station, and we stop at the closest permitted point to the entrance. The park is very large, so wear comfortable shoes; check tickets and opening times on the official website.
How far it is
About 35 km from central Naples, 35–45 minutes (indicative, varies with traffic and season). From the airport the ride is often shorter.
Who chooses it
Art and history lovers, families, cruise passengers who prefer a less crowded destination, people attending events, concerts and photo shoots, and guests at ceremonies in the area.
Return and groups
We agree the return time to Naples or the airport. If the ride back is late in the evening, say so in the request: night transfers run by reservation and subject to availability. Up to 4 passengers per car, more cars for groups and delegations.
Planning your day at the palace
The royal apartments take a couple of hours, while the park, stretching about three kilometres up to the great waterfall, needs more time: inside there are also shuttles and rental bikes run by the palace. So it is best to set the return time generously and, if needed, update it by message. If you are travelling with children or older relatives, mention it in the notes and we will choose the most convenient pick-up point at the exit together.
